For the most part, this cd-rom is nice if you can find at least 2 or 3 games that you enjoy. The only real downsides I see so far in the one day I played it so far yesterday are 1: Where in the world is Tony the Firefighter? He was my prefered player in the Card Games ( I have either the ‘08 version), my NUMBER one prefered player. Everyone else is on the game but him! Shame on Hoyle for not keeping him! 2: Knowing how to shoot the pool stick is downright tricky!
But the most upside to this pc game is that THE MUSIC IS TOTALLY HAPPENING! WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOO. . . . It will leave you dancing, the music that is called Puzzle Theme. It is feel good disco-y music! You won’t be able to get enough of it if you love music! But when playing games, you can change the music if you want if you don’t want Puzzle Theme. . .
A few games on there are billiards, something similar to Battleship, Yatch ( something that Yatzee was derived from), and Mahjon. Mahjon, however, you can only play yourself or another real person. There are some other games on there as well!

I played this on OS 9, and am delighted these games are now available in a format that will play on OS X Intel. I hope that when the next big change in operating systems comes along, the company will make these favorites playable on that system also. There is good reason some of these games have been popular so long. Backgammon, for example, has existed about 5,000 years! Games such as Backgammon, Chinese Checkers, Chess, and Dominoes have stood the test of time because they are good challenging games requiring the ideal combination of skill, strategy, and a bit of luck.

I enjoy the variety of games, there’s always an activity to keep you interested & busy. And the dvd works with PC’s or Mac’s.

I was really looking forward to this version coming out, but I immediately found that it wasn’t near as good as the previous version. This is the last “upgrade” I plan to buy of any Hoyle product. I’m back to playing what I already had. Very disappointing.

I purchased the previous version of this software for one computer. I later replaced that computer. When I went to install this game for my kids, I no longer had the serial code that had apparently been written on the original packaging. I contacted the company and they will not give me a new code without paying them $10. The game is not even worth that.
